| Given the state of our O-line, maybe the longer he holds out, the safer it will be :) |

We're going to make sure we cross our T's and dot our I's, however long the process takes. I just have to be patient. I can't get antsy about the situation. I've talked to a lot of veteran guys. My teammates aren't concerned about me holding out. They know that I want to be there, but at the end of the day it's a business. You have to do what's best for your family. It was good to get that support from veteran guys already -- before negotiations have heated up."
Spiller holding out won't be nearly as disastrous as the Maybin hold out last year, if it does happen. Running Back is much easier to get into than DE! There's no Micheal Crabtree this time around to keep 1st rounders at a stand-still either. |

| With me its not that I think he makes or brakes a season or even a game. I dont like the thought process. To much me first I guess. |

props to the bills for taking a stand on schobel's favre-esque act:
Nix said, 'Aaron has been contemplating retirement for the past seven months, but we are at the point where we are moving forward and have informed his agent of our plans. Aaron has been a very good player for the Bills and we wish him and his family the best, but there comes a point where we have to move forward and that point is today.' |

I still think if Schobel shows up at camp down the road that they will bring him back in some type of role.
And given how injury prone he has been the last few years, taking more time to rest probably isn't a bad thing. The question would be with the Bills switching to a 3-4, could he be effective as a situational pass rusher?
Althought what it sounds like isn't that he is sick of football, just of Buffalo.

Well, it means more work for Spiller with the 1st team during preseason. If those two sat our the rest of preseason It would probably be better in the long run.
Bigger concern should be QB and the penalties. The Skins didn't stop the Bills last Friday, they stopped themselves. Very sloppy game from a team with a coach known for discipline. |

and the good news just keeps on rolling in:
"Chan Gailey told the press in Toronto Wednesday evening that S Jairus Byrd is out indefinitely after having groin surgery and is related to the same injury he had last season" |

Here is the list. The news just keeps getting worse. NOT ;-)
http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/bills-nfl/article105975.ece The Bills are breathing a sigh of relief regarding free safety Jairus Byrd.
The injury that sidelined Byrd for Thursday's game is not the same as the ailment that forced him to have surgery last offseason, according to a team source.
The injury also is not viewed as serious, the source said. |
